Board of Directors

The board of directors is responsible for the strategic management of the company to meet the expectations of shareholders and stakeholders. Board members are as follows:

Simon Grey - Chief Executive

Simon is a chartered engineer with 22 years experience of power generation projects and business management of which 16 years have been in the renewables sector. He is responsible for the day-to-day running of the company.


John Anderson - Chairman

John is Chief Executive of The Entrepreneurial Exchange and a founding director of Rock Ventures Ltd. He is a specialist in entrepreneurship and new venture creation in Scotland with considerable personal and professional experience of emerging and high growth companies. He joined the board of AWS Ocean Energy in 2006.


Aruna Subramanian - Non-executive Director

Aruna Subramanian is currently an Investment Principal with Kenda Capital. She joined Shell Technology Ventures as an Analyst in 2005 before becoming an Investment Manager in 2006. Prior to joining STV, Aruna spent 11 years with Schlumberger Oilfield Services in various operational and management roles in Australasia, Middle East, Africa and the North Sea.

 

Bert Dequae - Non-executive Director

Bert Dequae is the General Counsel to Kenda Capital. Prior to joining Kenda Capital, Bert spent 14 years in various technical, commercial and legal positions. Bert joined Shell in 1995 as Petroleum Engineer, working off-and onshore in The Netherlands, Namibia and the United Kingdom. In 2001 he became a Commercial Advisor in Shell's Middle East new business development group. In 2004 Bert was seconded to Taylor Wessing's dispute resolution department in London. At the end of 2004, Bert returned to Shell and became Legal Counsel at Shell International, advising on technology venture capital transactions and upstream petroleum contracts in Pakistan and Brazil.


Peter Koninckx - Non-excutive Director

Peter Koninckx is currently VP Strategy & Business Development for the Renewable Power division of Alstom. As such he is responsible for strategy formulation and M&A for the Hydro, Wind, Ocean, Solar, and Geothermal businesses of Alstom. Previously he had a similar role for the Hydro & Wind business of the former Power Division of Alstom, and he started his career with Alstom as M&A Director for the Power Service Division. Before joining Alstom, he worked for 10 years as a strategy consultant for Andersen Consulting and Bain & Co.

 

Jean Christophe Juillard - Non-executive Director

Jean-Christophe Juillard is Senior Vice President Finance for the Renewable Power division of the Alstom group. He is responsible of all the Finance functions of the division as well as IS/IT and Risk Management. From 2008 to 2011 he was Vice President Finance for the Hydro & Wind businesses of the Alstom Power division and from 2004 to 2007 Vice President Finance for the North America region of Alstom Transport. Before Alstom he worked most of his career in various industrial companies in the US and in public accounting.

 

Andy Spence - Non-executive Director

Andy is a founding partner of CCM Partners. He is Chairman of a number of energy related businesses, and has been instrumental in a number of new ventures. Prior to founding CCM, he spent 10 years with 3i plc in the Glasgow and Tokyo offices, and was latterly an Investment Director in their Oil & Gas team.
